I didn't have any expectations when I started this anime, in fact, I was lying in the hospital bed in distress, thinking that there was no light in my life that would make my eyes shine, just like MC. I decided to watch an anime with distress, I read the description, I don't know if it was a coincidence of God but MC and I were experiencing that similar feeling of uncertainty at that my situation.That feeling that made me feel like I was walking in emptiness and eventually fell off a cliff. That's why this anime will always have a special place in me. ... I'm not someone who watches anime much, when I looked at the comments, they said that the romance wasn't received much or that MC quickly grasped the dance and was very unrealistic but the only point I looked at this anime was a character who found the light of life and how much his eyes shined while doing something he loved with enthusiasm, I envied this feeling, a lot. And even if it wasn't as fast as his, I will experience that feeling one day, at least I decided that I wanted it. (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ*.ﾟ

Anyway, I made a very depressing entrance but I really liked the anime. My favorite thing about sports anime (or whatever this genre is called) is that people have hobbies/interests that I have never known before, this feels very freeing, discovering new/different hobbies or having ideas about new/different subjects. That's why I really like watching anime/reading manga in this genre, it's nice to discover different things that people like, and the fact that a person's light of life belongs to something I have never known before actually shows how much there is to discover in life. From now on, I will watch more anime in this genre, or rather anime that includes different types of sports/hobbies, even if I'm not interested, it's nice to discover. I even watched many ballroom shows after watching the anime, watching every move in the anime integrate with real-life people and watching them... it was like a visual feast.

The drawing style did not bother me at all, on the contrary, it was a drawing style that fit the eye-catching aura reflected by this dance genre. Although I did not know much about the music choices, I liked the openings and enjoyed reading it as a manga, but for some reason, just like I experienced in "Given", reading is a desire and watching is a need in anime that includes music, I would like the anime to continue.

My only criticism about the anime is that I would have liked to have watched more of the characters' fun interactions with each other, I feel like I watched a complete struggle for 24 episodes, there was more fun after episode 12 and I would have liked more :( I liked watching the backgrounds of most of the characters (not all though), watching the characters' stories always makes me feel more drawn in. Some characters don't know why they chose this light, some dedicate their lives completely to this light, some discover this light for the first time, but they are all burning in the same hell and this fire of desire that has become the purpose of their lives keeps them moving, this common point feels right. And I would have liked to have watched Fujita's practices more, his constant and consecutive dancing on stage or participating in competitions made me feel like something was disconnected. Throughout the series, everyone who was watching said "It's ridiculous that he is competing with people who have been doing this dance for years before he even got a year old." Hyodo actually gives the answer to the viewers: "Dancing is not a matter of experience. A person who has been dancing for a year can be better than a person who has been dancing for ten years.", definitely I agree. Fujita's talent was like a light waiting to emerge within him, as he discovered himself he allowed that light to emerge and it became brighter over time.

I don't know if the manga is still ongoing but I will read the remaining chapters (55-74), I want to see Sengoku-san a little more because 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️

Just, I am truly grateful that the anime of Given has been released, I am writing this note of gratitude as someone who deeply connects with music, melodies, and this pleasure that allows me to suppress headache thoughts in my mind. I have read the manga, in fact, the manga is a special part of my library, but while reading the manga, the concert scenes were as if a deaf person would never have the chance to hear a song that makes people cry, laugh, and nourishes a person's mood, the drawings flow but not being able to hear their voices is torture. Anime and ... movies filled this gap for me, Given songs are very unique and special to me, some viewers a person they fell in love with by listening to these words, they their friend, maybe they reminded of a family member but on my side, someone I need to . Thank you again, for giving us this treasure. And if I were to go back to the beginning, maybe I would read the manga, but not watching Given is a great loss.

As with the others, I will get to the movie, the art style(?) were much better for me, even more so than other movies, the scenes I knew flashed before my eyes. The reason I was eagerly waiting for the movie to be released on internet was definitely because I wanted to see Hiiragi sing this song, I wanted to listen to him, he shines in that stage! Anyway, the concert scene was beautiful.. ''This is a love song.''

I was really stuck while reviewing the manga, because it's so hard to empathize with feelings you haven't experienced, to write something. Even though I'm a total Ueno fan, even thinking about Yuki and Mafuyu makes me sad, there's such a painful and filled with regrets ending, loss. But thanks to Mafuyu, I learned that even a person with a hole in his heart (as Yuki told him) a person should be able to continue their life, we are constantly changing beings, we are hungry to love and be loved, no matter how painful our past losses are, deep down we want to embark on new paths, a lonely life is not for people. And I'm sure if Yuki was somewhere watching Mafuyu, he would be happy only because he was happy.I think, mourning someone forever would be the worst thing a person can do to their life, which is given only once.And I must add, Ueno you are a perfect person, you patiently slowly broke his hard shell and made him come out of it himself, you gifted him a special song who was running away from the past and made him face the past that he was afraid of again, but this time he wouldn't be afraid when he faced it, because you had healed his wounds.You made him see that in the past was not just a single bad memory, but he have a countless good memories.

I can't write much, all the characters had their own bittersweet love stories, I enjoyed watching and reading without caring about gender or sexual orientation as normal (my suggestion for people with prejudices) It's like I'm watching different lives and experiences and I enjoyed it (lie, I cried the whole time)
I don't like goodbyes.. I am grateful for the unique songs 🫶🏻

Yep, I read the manga, watched the anime and the movies, and even though I knew what the outcome was but this movie was really mess for me.I felt uneasy constantly throughout the movie. No one talked to each other properly, why didn't Mafuyu go and talk to Uenoyama when he was constantly feeling uneasy about the past? Why does Uenoyama have to learn everything from others? (I feel sorry for him :() and I felt like their relationship was regressing instead of progressing.)

Akihiko and Haruki, since their relationship was already covered in the first movie, we see short but happy scenes of their relationship ... in this movie.
And the main characters in this movie are Shizusumi and Hiiragi. It was definitely disturbing, using Shizusumi's character and personality as an excuse is ridiculous, there were obvious elements of harassment in the last scenes and it bothered me. (I can't look at them as happy and pure love scenes, sorry.) I think that Shizusumi made Hiiragi feel uneasy with his erroneous thoughts that he thought without listening to anything, only with his outside observations and with the words and actions he said as a result. But no matter what, they love and value each other, there is no mistake in that.

Ahh, everything in this movie is so complicated, incomplete and everyone has misunderstood everything so much that I can't write a review right now!
I wish Mafuyu would openly talk about his feelings with Uenoyama this movie.( I feel like it's been unnecessarily prolonged.)
Akihiko and Haruki are in a healthy relationship, I'm quite happy for that, but I want to see them a little more.. little bit.

"Akihiko has changed and I thought about who could change Akihiko like this." When Haruki said these words, at first I thought of Ugetsu, like him, but then I realized that all of Akihiko's efforts were for Haruki and I felt my heart ache. In fact, even though Akihiko's words and actions towards Haruki hurt him a lot, we witnessed Akihiko really trying, and it made us forget all of his mistakes. Realizing his mistakes for the person he loves and trying to fix them proves how much he cares.

Perhaps the fact that this movie is deeper and a more realistic about the relationship compared ... to anime or other given movies made this couple and the movie more valuable to me.Even though my memory of the movie is blurry, I this very well: Keep your promise to Haruki and be a man worthy of him and his love, Akihiko.
Because after you said those words, I bowed my head down like Haruki and cried too.

A perfect, perfect blue. Every time I watch this movie, I notice a new detail and get a little more impressed, for me it is Satoshi Kon's best work and I also thank Yoshikazu Takeuchi for this valuable story, I want to buy the novel too..
It would be very insufficient to look at Perfect Blue as a simple plot involving an idol and an obsessive fan, this plot contains more psychological elements than I could have imagined. And before I get down to the subheadings, I want to write about the anime. The visuals of the anime (I don't know how to express it.) were ... not as impressive to me as Millennium Actress
or Paprika, but I think it reflects the generally unsettling atmosphere of the movie very well. And the musics, blended and harmonized with the emotions in that moment, it is impossible not to be drawn into the movie when the musics comes on.

The obsessive fan relationship, which is the main element of the movie, was also experienced during the time the movie was made, and they actually saw the future. Our pervert, who could not stand the slightest change in Mima, was similar to the fans who are still present today, who cannot stand even the slightest change in their idol's hair, clothing, style, thoughts or relationships, and who spew hatred at the person they call their idol or claim to love. I do not have any hate speech, but I am sure that such incidents also occur in the most popular kpop sector today, at least I am sure that one of the biggest reasons for idol suicide cases, the exact reasons of which have not yet been found, are fans who claim to love their idols but harm them. The pervert's inability to accept Mima’s change, talking to the idol Mima he created in his mind, seeing her hallucinations, and having the people who caused her to quit this idol career killed by, I guess, hired killers, if not himself, are all proof of how sick his mentality is. (but he thinks that all of this is done especially for him) So this part of the plot was quite impressive, I watched a plot that told the future so clearly. A 'love' where you compromise yourself can easily turn into hate.

Pressure, Mima thinks that people will be disappointed if she returns to her career as an idol (she actually acts according to the thoughts and words of people outside at every moment.) In other words, every line Mima plays is a reflection of her thoughts in real life, the emotions she feels for the sake of the role are a reflection of her real feelings. And after a while, Mima gets confused between the scenes she plays and the moments in her real life, and she starts to question whether every moment she experiences is real or not. In fact, the fact that any memory suddenly turns into a movie scene allows us to make sense of the events.

And Rumi is actually another person who has a personality conflict. It is obvious that Rumi was an idol in his youth but could not hold on to this industry and that he thought he could realize the ideals that Mima could not realize with her glamorous idol career. Actually, I thought of Rumi as a parent who could not realize they dream, who imposed a profession on their child without caring about they personality, loved ones and thinking that they was similar to theyself. And Mima ending her idol career causes Rumi to end her dream world as well, although she seems sad at her at the beginning, we see her anger coming out in the last scenes.

And in the scene where the truck hits Idol Mima, I thought the lights of the truck were a spotlight and Idol Mima was ending her last scene and saying goodbye to us. So we are saying goodbye to Idol Mima forever and I think Mima is also free from this mess, now there is only actress Mima, the real Mima.

It was definitely the right decision to finish the manga after the anime. But it was necessary to finish the anime and the three movies at the same time, because I realized that I was getting lost in the subject until I waited for the other movies. Anyway, there is such a difference between reading Given as a manga and watching it as an anime.. Even if I didn't read the manga, I would definitely watch the anime and the movies. (suggestion)

Reading given actually made me enjoy the art style more. The character and environment drawings were quite beautiful, Akihiko's drawings were the best!! (I ... read it over and over again). In fact, the anime was no different than a movie for me, the animations were so impressive that I could understand the character's feelings with split-second facial expressions that we might not notice. But I also felt the characters' feelings better in the manga, the feelings touched my heart more with the black and white drawings.
And I can definitely say that reading Given only as a manga is a very painful experience. I read it after watching the anime, during the concert scenes in the manga, I felt like a deaf person who could never listen to the songs where people were crying, laughing, and filling their feelings.(really) My ears were buzzing during the music scenes, I kept saying, "I want to hear it, I want to listen!" I am very grateful for the anime and the songs..

I want to touch on the homosexual relationships, which are the main event of this series according to 'some people'. While reading the manga, we witnessed eight men's different love languages, the three main couples had relationships that were complicated at first but deserved a happy ending. But after finishing it, I realized only one thing, I didn't care at all. Reading the love of two men, reading their past wounds was no different than reading a "heterosexual love". I will never understand why people make such a big deal about this.I don't have much to do with bl content but I thought about this: What kind of difference is there between my love for a man and Mafuyu's love for Yuki or Uenoyama? (Any example) maybe his is much stronger. So if you're going to look at this manga with a very simple logic like it has bl content, don't read it at all, this manga is more than these simple thoughts.It tells about past experiences, pain, human relationships, being able to listen and understand the other person and feel their emotions.Actually, I enjoy reading series where the truth hits us in the face rather than series where homosexual relationships are told in a rosy universe.

Mafuyu and Uenoyama, although Mafuyu's attachment or longing for Yuki in some scenes sometimes made me uneasy (because I felt sorry for Ue), I can't understand it because I've never been in such a situation, so my judgment could be unreasonable. (I thought about how terrible it is to lose the only person you have in your life, especially when your last moments are so painful and full of regret..) But I saw, Mafuyu slowly came out of his shell, I even thought if Ue had never helped him, would Mafuyu have experienced a similar terrible scenario? And they are young people, how much experience do they have in life? That's why I think we shouldn't judge them too much or spew hatred. Mafuyu will never forget Yuki, as Yuki said, he will remain an unclosable hole in his heart but as long as a person lives, they can embark on new loves with that hole. Ue will slowly heal him, their love for each other will increase. It's actually quite nice that Ue respects his past, yes, he could sometimes have distorted thoughts because at first it seemed like Mafuyu's wound would never heal, maybe Uenoyama was afraid of not being able to heal his wound on his own. Akihiko and Haruki, the best thing to understand them is to watch the first movie. Their relationship is too complicated in my opinion, I don't understand.(because Ugetsu) But their relationship became so healthy. Yes, Akihiko hurt Haruki, he said words that even hurt my heart but in the end, realizing his mistakes and changing for the man he loved, trying was valuable, it was proof of his love.

Hiiragi and Shizusumi, I didn't have much of an opinion towards this couple. Some of Shizusumi's scenes made me laugh for a long time, while Hiiragi's energy was great.. he in the stage really shine. This couple is completely connected their all life, there is no other explanation.

And all the other characters, especially Yuki and Ugetsu, all had valuable stories in themselves. I am happy to have witnessed all of them. Although most of the time the characters' thoughts and the dead ends they get into seem like a huge mess to me (because I have never had such feelings or experience) their stories still warmed my heart..

I couldn't understand, I guess I didn't understand what was being said or what people were understanding. But after watching for a few days, I was able to make sense of things when I thought about it with a clear mindset. Some of the dialogues in the movie touched me so much that they are still in my brain.

Since it was my first time watching this type of anime, I was confused while watching it. I thought to myself, "What the hell is this?!" but even after watching it I everything about the movie, how does this happen?

And no matter what I say, ... it's a visual feast. I think that concepts such as dreams, the subconscious and the 'confusion' that are meant to be explained are explained in the best way. The confusion was never absurd; Even things that were absurdly disconnected seemed to make sense together. While watching, I thought to myself, "Am I really having such complicated dreams?" (maybe)

I was pointlessly waiting for the main plot of the movie. Throughout the movie, there are thoughts like there must be a bad character, we have to defeat him or Paprika must come to an end. But this movie wasn't like that, it was irrelevant, what this movie wanted to tell was very different and whatever it was, it was perfect. Maybe even though I didn't understand what was being said at all, 'I'm going to make an anime about dreams and subconscious.Draw it.' Even for people who perfectly fulfill the wishes of someone who said these things, I can give high marks to this anime. It was really high quality..

It was my favorite manga Tatsuki Fujimoto's works. I don't know if I'm in the minority but for me, if I can find something from myself in a movie, book or manga, it makes it even more special and affects me more. It was exactly like that in Sayonara Eri. As someone who also read the Look Back, I don't feeling anything when I finished that manga but after finishing Sayonara Eri, it made me sit and think for a while..

First of all, the drawings, I knew Tatsuki Fujimoto's drawings would never upset me but in this manga, the man did wonders! The ... s flowed like a camera shot, which is the main event of the manga, I had to slow myself down to catch the details, otherwise it would suck me in as if I was falling off a cliff. He managed to convey the emotion to the reader in the best way, and as the reader, we were in Yuta's perspective most of the time.
In other words, it is a manga that can be given a chance just for its drawings.

When we come to the subject, we see our main character, Yuta, who videotaped his mother's last moments (I still can't understand why his mother did this, it seems selfish), turned them into a movie and was lynched. As the story progresses, things get a little deeper on Yuta's side, he meets Eri and I witness dialogues that I did not expect. But no matter what, Yuta is always so calm, maybe I'm the only one who thinks this way, I don't know but I can't even imagine what storms are raging inside him. (I think I can interpret those explosion scenes this way..) The finale was a complete emptiness for me, I need to make sense of some of the pieces.‍ But no matter what, this man was both an artist, a screenwriter and in my opinion, the director of this manga.

It looks like it will be a long and complex review..

The drawings impressed me throughout the movie, the character of Chiyoko fascinated me, she was so beautiful in the scenes. And I can't believe how it was made in the 2000s, it was really high quality. The environment drawings, character drawings, especially the last scenes... they were literally movie scenes. The whole movie flashing before our eyes in the last minutes summarized the whole story.(This was the most exciting part of the movie) I waited with hope throughout the series, just like the Chiyoko character. I wanted him to come, I wanted them to meet ... again.

Actually, this anime was not tiring, it told the story so calmly, slowly and well.. It was like a medicine after the ‘Paprika’ haha. Our side characters Genya and Kyouji were definitely the other colors of the story, without them I wouldn't have had as much fun ^^

And most importantly, following him for years, missing him, waiting until he finally forgets him... I don't know, when we were child, we grew up with fairy tales with happy endings, now these stories affect and destroy me. But isn't this love at first sight? Chiyoko's character was a girl who bonded quickly, perhaps due to the environment and time she lived in. Even though this may seem pointless to some viewers, it doesn't matter. And I'm thinking, what made I think Chiyoko was really in love? Maybe her was not even a love, maybe she wanted to connect to something, that key was what would hold her throughout her life, I don't know. These are meaningless since Chiyoko's past is not mentioned.But it was hope, waiting, the desire to hand over the mysterious key and of course, promises made to a young girl.. But if she was in love, I believe that such innocent loves exist in real life.And I look more at the war and destruction side of the issue. I hate it, I hate the centuries of wars, the rebellions, having to flee. I wonder how many loves, how many lives, how many hopes were destroyed like this?

I believe this story really happened somewhere once upon a time. Maybe not the same, but similar ones. In the end... I hope that many others will meet happily, just like Chiyoko and him meeting.
